Military Decorations

  • The first ribbons should be military decorations. They include, in order, Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Navy and Marine Corps Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement and Combat Action Ribbon.

Unit Awards

  • The next ribbons will include those awarded to entire units at a time. These are, in order, the Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon and Battle "E" Ribbon.

Campaigns

  • The next set of ribbons are significant to specific events or campaigns with which the individuals was involved. These include, in order, the POW Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Good Conduct, Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, China Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service, Antarctica Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service, Humanitarian Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Naval Arctic Service Ribbon, Naval Reserve Sea Service Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Recruiting Service Ribbon, Navy Recruit Training Service Ribbon, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal.

Other Ribbons
